{Visual Identity-Motion Design}
Her way home

The visual identity is designed for saxophonist Juchen Wang's graduation recital at the New England Conservatory. The recital is collaborating with Asian female musicians’ artworks.

Challenge:

During the composition process, the client intended to incorporate feminist themes. However, in the early conceptual phase, the visual concepts and expressions were rather scattered and relied on stereotypical feminist imagery, such as pink colors and delicate fonts. These choices failed to effectively connect female composers with a female audience.

Solution:

The design employs the concept of "way." Motion graphics extend and retrace, conveying the connection of Asian women with their homeland, their past, and their future. This approach uses motion as a methodology to reflect the female composer's concept and explores the visual possibilities of feminism.

Event material includes a program list, motion campaign, staff ID card, billboard, etc.
